Calculate the supported quotient

The mass tool divides an actual selected bag price by its declared net pounds. At the observed bases, Ultra is 22.99/40, Comfort Care is 19.15/15 and the maker-store ökocat Original is 32.99/18.8 USD per pound. The denominator is litter net mass. It is not shipping weight, fluid volume, clumps removed or a measured period of use.

Do not rank effectiveness from mass cost

Different materials need not provide equal volume or performance per pound. A lower quotient does not prove lower monthly cost, stronger clumps, less tracking or better odor control. This site has no comparative usage experiment. The result is useful for a transparent purchasing denominator, but it should not be labeled the best-performing or cheapest-to-use litter.

Round only for display

The unrounded Ultra quotient is 0.57475 USD per pound. A display rounded to 0.57 or 0.58 is not an exact per-pound charge that should be multiplied backward to reconstruct the bag price. Keep the original 22.99 USD price for a merchandise subtotal. The calculator retains full arithmetic precision until formatting the output.

Use the actual purchase mode

A first Autoship promotion or a recurring discount has conditions and may change later. The selected comparison uses one-time prices. The user may enter an actual current quoted price in the tool, but the site does not claim that every visitor qualifies for a promotional amount. A list price is also not automatically a verified former transaction price.

Keep unknown charges visible

Shipping and tax can change the delivered cost. The tool labels the selected base as merchandise only and does not invent a standard delivery fee. A free-shipping banner may have eligibility and destination conditions. Do not call two offers equal delivered cost because their merchandise quotient is similar while one delivery quote is unknown.

Reject unsupported units

If a user selects a volume unit, the mass tool does not perform a density-free conversion. It explains that a verified net-mass record is needed. This prevents a precise-looking output from disguising an unsupported assumption. The local calculation remains separate from product suitability, disposal permission and independent veterinary-claim review.

Keep a four-decimal quotient in context

The tool displays four decimal places for unit cost to make different bag sizes easier to compare. That precision belongs to arithmetic, not a claim of market-price certainty or performance measurement. The input price can change at checkout. Shipping, tax and conditional promotions are still outside the base. A precise quotient does not repair an unknown disposal route or a missing current package panel;those remain separate unresolved fields in the same purchase record.
